precision 3D measuring technology is fundamental for modern product lifecycle
management.
Classic coordinate measuring machines are still regarded as a
reference for measurement system
analyses, but for inline quality assurance they are no longer sufficient. The
wide availability of 3D sensors has led to their application in machine vision, which also poses a new
challenge for suppliers of machine vision systems.
When you look at the requirements of modern production environments, it becomes clear that the focus has shifted from mere image-oriented processing to a product-oriented view. As production processes become more and more flexible, this trend is likely to continue toward a more process-oriented view.
This talk will give an insight into state-of-the-art 3D inspection
technology and demonstrate requirements of modern 3D inspection systems based
on a real-world example (recorded at the Industrial VISION Days 2018):
